Leadership In Practice
June 25- June 28, 2017
For nearly 20 years, students from around the state have come together to be immersed in leadership activities and simulations led by civic, business and education leaders at Leadership In Practice http://mochamber.com/workforce/leadership-in-practice/, a statewide leadership development program.
The Leadership In Practice program was developed by the Missouri Chamber Foundation to engage Missouri high school students in hands on, real world leadership training. The program is divided into five areas: global leadership, civic leadership, economic leadership, ethical leadership and personal leadership. The key to the training is that students learn by participating in small group discussions, activities and simulations. The students are mentored by experienced business, civic and education leaders from across the state, imparting real world knowledge to help guide their development during the forum. Students evaluate their leadership skills based on what they learn and then set goals on how to improve those skills during the rest of their High School career.
A 2014 graduate summed the program up best-I thought the program was an amazing experience. I have already started putting the lessons learned into action in my community and hope to achieve greater things in the near future!" - Maddison, Warrenton High School, '14
The 2017 Leadership In Practice program is set for June 25-28, 2017. The application period will run from January 1, 2017 to April 1, 2017. Please save the date and look for future information at the first of the year on this solid youth leadership opportunity for freshmen. We would also like to invite you to view a video from this past summer's program here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yme1mvjHcWA

For our top diversity candidates, we offer the Falcon Visitation Experience. This opportunity gives prospective students an opportunity to spend three days on our campus to get a first-hand look at what United States Air Force Academy life is like.
